Located in the eastern part of Shizuoka Prefecture, at the southern foot of Mount Fuji, the town is home to the famous Kakitagawa River, which has been selected as one of Japan's top 100 famous water sources. In Kakitagawa Park, which is the uppermost stream of the river, you can see numerous springs up close.
This place maintains a rich natural environment and valuable ecosystem with a plentiful water supply of approximately 1.1 million tons per day and stable water temperature.
