The main deity enshrined here is Emperor Ōjin, and Himegami and Empress Jingū are also worshipped.
In the northern part of the shrine grounds is the "Meeting Stone," where Minamoto no Yoritomo, who had pacified the Kanto and Izu regions in preparation for the Battle of Fujikawa, set up his headquarters in Yawata. It is said that Yoshitsune, who had traveled all the way from Ōshū to support his brother Yoritomo's uprising, sat when they met.
From either JR Mishima Station or JR Numazu Station, take a bus for 15 minutes and get off at "National Hospital Entrance."
